Afton Hayes – Attorney

Afton Hayes has been an attorney for over 12 years and is licensed to practice in both California and Washington State.

She is a civil litigator who focuses her practice in family law, probate and real estate. Afton's practical problem-solving approach balances her clients' long-term needs with no-nonsense methods to get them the best resolution. Afton deeply understands the financial, emotional, and psychological impact that family law issues carry for parties and children alike, whether those issues are dividing property and debts, spousal support, kids' visitation schedules, child support, or domestic violence.

Afton takes a similar approach when handling probate cases, understanding that the court system should be the last thing on a client's mind after the passing of a loved one, assisting families through the probate process and administration of the estate.

While Afton is an exceptional problem solver, she recognizes that preventative planning can spare individuals and families the hardships of later litigation. She is adept at drafting both prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and often advises clients on the potential implications of various approaches.

Before joining ILG, Afton worked for a music and entertainment law firm in Beverly Hills, California, which represented some of the largest bands, writers, and musicians in the world; artists you've probably heard of. She has drafted "360", merchandising, and licensing agreements. Afton has registered trademarks, protected copyrights, and even helped establish a series of nationwide rock festivals.

A diehard Husky, you can often find Afton glued to the TV on fall Saturdays cheering her team on (especially against the USC Trojans).
